QuantumCLS provided Project and Cost Management services to Bristol Airport for its largest capital investment to date – the development of a Public Transport Interchange Hub and multi-storey car park.

The works comprised the design, procurement and construction of the new multi-storey car park and Public Transport Interchange including associated road alterations and pedestrian links at Bristol Airport. The new car park links to the existing multi-storey car park at all levels, whilst incorporating alterations to the existing 'multi-storey car park 1', so that the two facilities operate as one upon completion. The £60m project was procured via the NEC4 Option A and is part of the Airport’s £400 million transformation programme.

The developments intention is to provide more frequent connections for people to travel to and from Bristol Airport by bus and coach enabling more sustainable journeys.

The delivery of the new Multistorey Car Park and Public Transport Interchange boasts:

New Public Transport Interchange

This is one of the region’s largest bus and coach interchanges, enhancing public transport links across the region and providing increased capacity with 16 bays - double the original number.

Additional Car Parking Spaces

There is a new dedicated drop off and pick-up area, increased multi-storey car park capacity with an additional 2,000 spaces including a blue badge parking zone.

Level Access to the Terminal

The terminal is now accessed via a glazed pedestrian bridge link and the internal road design which segregates pedestrians and vehicles, making it safer for everyone.

The two-year build of the Public Transport Interchange boosted the local economy by providing 120 jobs on site during the peak of the project with over 60 new jobs created permanently, as well as supporting the local supply chain. The concrete supplier was based less than five miles from the Airport and 30% of suppliers came from within a 50-mile radius. The project also provided work opportunities for those looking to get into engineering and construction careers, with 15 apprentices and T Level placements from Weston College among those to work on the project.

The contractor began work on-site in October 2023 under a Letter of Intent. As of September 2025, Sections 1–4 have been handed over two months ahead of programme and within budget. Section 5, ‘The Whole of the Works’, is contracted for completion in December 2025 and is currently forecast for delivery one month early, in November 2025.
